Rhinoplasty in Vancouver, BC

Rhinoplasty, commonly called a “nose job,” is a surgical procedure that reshapes the nose to improve facial harmony and nasal function. It addresses cosmetic concerns such as dorsal humps, wide or drooping tips, asymmetry, or nasal irregularities. Functional issues like a deviated septum or breathing difficulties can also be corrected during surgery for both form and function.

01. The First Step

Rhinoplasty reshapes the nose to improve facial harmony, refine specific features, a dorsal hump, a wide or drooping tip, asymmetry, or restore breathing function, often both at once. Because the nose sits at the centre of the face, even small changes can have an outsized effect on overall balance.

This is one of the most individualized procedures in cosmetic surgery, and the consultation reflects that. Dr. Denton examines your nasal structure inside and out, discusses what you'd like to change and what you'd like to keep, and explains what's achievable within your anatomy. A successful rhinoplasty looks like it was always your nose — and that begins with a plan built specifically for your face.

02. Procedure at a Glance

Rhinoplasty is performed under general anaesthesia. Depending on the surgical plan, Dr. Denton uses either a closed approach, with incisions hidden entirely inside the nose, or an open approach, which adds a small, well-concealed incision across the columella for greater precision in complex reshaping.

The underlying bone and cartilage are then refined, repositioned, or reinforced according to your plan. A small splint protects the nose in the first days. Most patients return home the same day.

03. The Recovery

Swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes are expected early on and improve significantly within the first couple of weeks, most patients feel socially comfortable once the splint is removed. The nose, however, refines slowly: subtle swelling, particularly in the tip, can take many months to fully resolve.

Dr. Denton sees you at regular intervals throughout this process. Patience is rewarded with rhinoplasty; the result you see at one year is more refined than the one you see at one month.
