Brow Lift
Brow Lift Surgery in Vancouver, BC
A brow lift (also known as a forehead lift) is a surgical procedure that lifts and repositions the eyebrows, smooths forehead lines, and opens up the eye area, giving you a more youthful, rested and alert appearance. Over time, the brow can droop, creating a tired, angry, or aged appearance. A brow lift gently repositions the eyebrows to a more youthful height, softening forehead lines and improving the appearance of sagging skin.
A brow lift repositions the brow to a more youthful, natural height, softening forehead heaviness and opening the upper eyelid area. Over time, the brow gradually descends — a change so subtle that many patients attribute the resulting heaviness to their eyelids instead.
Dr. Denton assesses your brow position at rest, your forehead anatomy, your hairline, and how these elements relate to your eyes. He'll discuss the surgical approaches available — including minimal-incision endoscopic techniques — and which one suits your anatomy and goals. The aim is always a refreshed expression, never a raised or startled look.
Brow lift surgery is performed under anaesthesia, with incision placement depending on the chosen technique. Endoscopic approaches use several small incisions hidden within the hair, through which Dr. Denton releases and repositions the brow tissues. The procedure may be performed alone or alongside blepharoplasty for a more complete upper-face rejuvenation.
You'll receive thorough preparation instructions ahead of time, and most patients return home the same day.
Expect some swelling, tightness, and occasionally temporary numbness across the forehead and scalp in the early days. These sensations resolve gradually as healing progresses. Most patients are comfortable resuming light routines within a week or two, with full activity reintroduced on Dr. Denton's schedule.
Because brow lift recovery varies with technique and individual healing, your follow-up plan is tailored to you. The result, a naturally elevated, more open expression, settles in fully over the weeks that follow.

Find clear, professional answers to common questions about our procedures and services.
What age is the best for a brow lift?
There’s no “perfect” age for a brow lift, it depends on how your brow and forehead have aged. Many patients start considering a brow lift in their late 30s to 50s when they notice drooping brows, hooded upper eyelids, or a tired expression. If injectables no longer give you the lift you want, surgery may be the next step.
Who is a good candidate for a brow lift?
A brow lift may be right for you if you notice your eyebrows sitting lower than they used to, deep forehead creases, or heaviness around the eyes that makes you look tired, stern, or less approachable.
The best candidates are in good overall health, non-smokers, and have realistic expectations. While brow lifts are often chosen to address age-related changes, they can also be a great option for younger patients with naturally heavy brows.
How long do results from a brow lift last?
Results are long-lasting, often a decade or more, though natural aging continues. Patients usually continue to look more refreshed than if they had not undergone surgery. Protecting your skin from the sun and avoiding smoking can help maintain your outcome.
How do I know if I need a brow lift or eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)?
If your upper eyelids look heavy but the brows have dropped significantly, you may benefit more from a brow lift. If the brows are well-positioned but there’s excess eyelid skin or fat, upper blepharoplasty may be the better option. In many cases, combining both gives the most natural, rejuvenated outcome.
What techniques does Dr. Paul Denton use?
Depending on your anatomy, Dr. Denton may choose:
- Endoscopic brow lift
- Lateral or temporal brow lift
- Coronal brow lift
- Internal browpexy combined with upper blepharoplasty
Your consultation clarifies which approach is best for your facial structure.
Where are the incisions located?
Incisions depend on the technique:
- Hidden within the hairline (endoscopic, coronal, lateral)
- Inside the upper eyelid (internal browpexy paired with blepharoplasty)
They are designed to be discreet and well-hidden once healed.
